Booking Policy

A booking shall be considered confirmed only after receipt of the required advance payment or deposit. Upon confirmation, a contractual agreement is established between the traveler and The Journeya.

Flight Bookings & Cancellation Policy

Flight bookings arranged through The Journeya are subject entirely to the respective airline’s terms and conditions regarding fares, baggage policies, schedule changes, delays, and cancellations.

The Journeya shall not be held responsible for airline operational changes, cancellations, force majeure events, natural calamities, or airline shutdowns. Any refund or adjustment related to flights will depend solely on the airline’s policy and approval.

Group Booking Policy

Group departures are subject to minimum participation requirements. The Journeya reserves the right to modify, reschedule, convert group tours into private tours, or cancel departures if minimum group strength is not achieved.

Any additional cost arising due to private arrangements or upgraded transportation shall be borne by the traveler. Such decisions may be made up to 48 hours before departure.

Deposit Policy

A minimum deposit of 25% of the total tour cost is required to confirm and secure the booking.

Balance Payment

The remaining balance payment must be completed at least 15 days prior to the commencement of travel services.

Bookings made within 15 working days of departure will require full payment at the time of booking confirmation.

Important Note

For special train journeys, peak season departures, festive season bookings, Christmas, New Year, and luxury hotel reservations, full payment may be required at the time of booking.

Additional Charges

Payments made via credit card may attract additional bank processing charges of up to 3% over and above the total payable amount.

All payments must be made free from withholding taxes or deductions. Any bank remittance charges imposed by intermediary or remitting banks shall be borne solely by the payer.

Cancellation / No Show / Early Departure Policy

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. Cancellation charges will be applicable from the date the written request is received by The Journeya.

Service Charges

A minimum 10% service charge shall apply once a booking has been confirmed, irrespective of the cancellation period.

Post-Departure Cancellation

If a tour is cancelled after commencement, refunds—if any—shall depend entirely upon recoveries received from hotels, transport providers, and other suppliers.

No refund shall be provided for unused hotel stays, meals, transport services, sightseeing activities, or voluntarily unused services.

Special Train Journeys

Luxury train journeys such as Palace on Wheels, Maharajas’ Express, Deccan Odyssey, Golden Chariot, and similar services may have separate cancellation policies which will be shared at the time of booking.

Peak Season Policy

For bookings during the peak travel season between 20th December and 15th January, cancellations may attract 100% retention charges irrespective of the reason for cancellation.

Refund Policy

Refunds or adjustments for unused or missed services shall be processed solely at the discretion of The Journeya and based on supplier recovery policies and company calculations.

Approved refunds, if any, shall be issued only to the original payer through credit notes or approved payment methods. The company’s final calculation shall be binding and conclusive.

Acceptance of Terms

By making any payment or confirming any booking with The Journeya, the traveler acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted all terms and conditions mentioned above.

Any claim stating otherwise after payment confirmation shall not be entertained by The Journeya.
